How to get an 18% refund on private school tuition

Did you know that the Ukrainian government allows you to get back a portion of the money you pay for your child’s education in a private school? This is called a tax discount — and it works like real cashback: every year, you can receive up to 18% of your education expenses back.

Who is eligible?
👥 Parents who are officially employed and pay income tax (Personal Income Tax – PIT);
👤 Students themselves, if they are adults and officially employed.

How does it work?
1️⃣ You pay for private school tuition throughout the year.
2️⃣ At the beginning of the following year, you submit documents to the tax office (can be done online via Diia).
3️⃣ You get back up to 18% of the amount paid (depending on your official income).

What do you need?
1️⃣ A copy of the contract with the educational institution;
2️⃣ Payment documents;
3️⃣ Income certificate;
4️⃣ Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN);
5️⃣ Annual tax declaration (once a year).

Is it free?
Yes. Applying for the tax discount is completely free. The review period is up to 60 calendar days.

Example: If you paid 100,000 UAH for a year of education — you can get back around 18,000 UAH.
It’s a great way to ease the financial burden on your family budget without changing anything in the learning process.

If you need help with the documents — we’ll gladly assist.
